I hear people say they're "agnostic"--which is an easy way to get off the hook and not have to believe anything--and I wonder what they're thinking. In particular, what do you think happens to you after you die?
What Jesus tells us in Matthew is that if we haven't repented of our sins and said "Yes, I'll take it" to his sacrifice of his life for us, then when he sees us after we die, he'll say to you, "Get away from me, I never knew you."
Do you really want to hear that from the Lord of All Creation?
Or would you rather hear his comforting and welcoming words for those who've trusted him..."Well done, good and faithful servant?"
Yeshua--or Jesus, as his name is in English--isn't just some nicey-nice pie in the sky. Yeshua was a real flesh-and-blood Jewish man who lived and died. He had a human nature and a divine nature. He was the only perfect person who ever lived...yet He chose to play the role His Father had given Him, which was to have all of our sin pinned onto him as He lay dying on the cross.
Tell me this: what would you think if you heard of a friend who died to save someone? That he was a hero, right? Well, Jesus died so that you and I and everyone else could have life without end in the best place of all, after we die! So he's a superhero.
Jesus is real.
God is real.
And hell is real, and whether you like it or not, or whether it offends you or not, that's where you're headed if you haven't trusted Jesus enough to pray to Him, repent (that means to be truly sorry for) your sins, and trust him as your Savior.
Do it now, and then you won't have to worry for the rest of your life!
