Why Messiah had to have died before the 2nd Temple was destroyed

This one is for my Jewish brothers and sisters who don't believe that Yeshua of Nazareth--or Jesus of Nazareth, as his name is in English--was the Messiah.

In Daniel 9, we see God giving Daniel a prophecy:

DAN 9:26: "Then after the 62 weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined."

Here, Adonai is talking about the 62 weeks from the decree to rebuild Jerusalem and the death of the Messiah, and it is very clear that the Messiah's death has to occur before Jerusalem and the 2nd Temple are destroyed...which we know happened in 70 A.D, destroyed by the Romans.

Heard a beautiful presentation of Yeshua as the Pesach Lamb (Jesus as the Passover lamb) on Sunday, by Karol Joseph from Jews for Jesus.

She showed us many parallels between the sacrificial Passover lamb (which cannot now be sacrificed, due to no temple currently in Jerusalem) and Yeshua. There is a huge metaphor woven throughout Jesus' life and death, of the passover lamb who was sacrificed so that His blood would wash away our sins.

If you haven't yet realized that Yeshua was the promised Messiah that God sent to us, this would be a wonderful time to grasp it, as time is short. Many Jewish folks think Messiah should come as a triumphant conquerer, but that's not what the Old Testament prophecies said he would come as.

Besides...if you're the CEO and you want to go check on a factory, do you go in there in your limo and walk in with full pomp and circumstance so they know who you are and they know to be on their best behavior...or do you send your son to go get a job in the mailroom, quietly and low-key?
